Pre-school, a short introduction

A Pre-school (Voorschool) is a special playgroup with facilities to coach children on an individual basis.

Children can familiarize themselves with such notions as colours and forms in a playful way. Also, a lot of attention is paid to - Dutch -  language acquisition. Children attend Pre-school four times a week. Pre-schools are open all year, school holidays excluded.

When is your child eligible for Pre-school?

Pre-school offers subsidized places for children who need extra support for a proper development. Therefore, these places are only for children who are eligible on the basis of the level of their parents' education, which will be taken into consideration during the selection procedure. For this purpose, national guidelines exist which will be used by our office when a place for your child is applied for.

In addition, the Child Health Centre (Consultatiebureau) can indicate whether your child is eligible for Pre-school. They can give an official indication which, together with the enrolment form, you can hand in at the playgroups office at De Koppeling.

If you do not fulfil these conditions, you can enrol your child at a regular playgroup for which the charges, for example for all Monday mornings a month, are €40,- a month.
